This Old Desk

old desk photoThis is my old, small wobbly teak desk. I wrote boy on this desk in 2006, and the revisions in 2011.  I wrote 365 Afghanistan Confessions  on this desk 2008 – 2012, and many revisions. I bought it at Antiques and Funk for $125, after my second divorce. This desk is in my porch, and available, free for the taking. Love it to go to good home, despite it’s failings. In a day or two it will be on the boulevard, and who knows where it will end up.

There was a couple from New York that tried to help me during the week I was a teenage runaway in Toronto living in my St. Claire 3rd floor garret.. They told me that in their America of wealthy suburbs, rich people  just put out their colour tvs or designer furniture out with the trash. This desk is not near as valuable as either, but I rather hand it over to someone who might care for it, rather than use it for kindling. Cue the violins. Oh, the legs do not come off the desk, and it’s a bitch, despite its size and light weight, to move
