The Pain Room – Right Foot Bone Fusion

I have been called in for my right foot bone-fusion surgery tomorrow morning to fill a cancellation, though it’s very short notice, it means my hip surgeries can be moved up, as I need to have them both replaced in 2013 as well. I’m using the experience to instigate an art project, including collaboration with Winnipeg photographer Richard Hines. We’ve had one photo shoot based on text I’ve written, and more are planned. The short notice means this surgery will go visually undocumented as no photo or videographers I know are available tomorrow. The surgery is to correct Stage Four Flat Foot. I had the same surgery on my right foot with great success last year.
