SOLICITATIONS
Crazy with pain a crooked man
offers his crooked hand to God
in the sacristy with a prayer
Please make my one hand
like the other he prays his hand
above his head then collapsing
in his lap he sees his prayer
answered both hands crippled
Yes he thinks
yes of course –
a beggar is as good
as a horse
