Rhubarb magazine, published by the Mennonite Literary Societyy (MLS) since 1998, launches it’s first professionnally designed website tomorrow. Compelete with PayPal enabled e-commerce, the new site marks the next step for the magazine that provides a venue for loosely defind Mennonite (praticising, lapsed, declined, resistant) voices, making new music. The website address renains the same www.rhubarbmag.com.
The website offers fresh reading, changing every week, led by a blog featuring up to a dozen witers in the next 12 months, and news and events, with feature content drawn from every issue. Galleries will provide virtual exhition space to artists published in Rhubarb, and a profiles section encourages writers and artists to post their biographies with publication and exhibiton infomation and links to their sites.
Tomorrow rhubarmag.com reveals the Taboo Literary contest winners, while readers consider the covers of Rhubarb #32, and what’s under them in Mennonite Sex, our secomd publication in our 2013 Taboo series which wraps up with the Power & Politics issue in December.
Thanks to the team at Relish Design for making Rhubarb look so sweet, and to the Winnipeg Founation for the greatly appreciated grant neeed to realize our digital dreams.
