The Envoi Poetry Festival is organizing a poetry book club that will meet 6 – 8 times before the Festival (May 29 – June 5 in Winnipeg). We will begin to meet in the first week of April (Canada Poetry Month) where up to ten participants will discuss poetry, focusing on the work of the poets and spoken word artists presenting at the Envoi Poetry Festival. EPF will be choosing questions generated by poetry book club meetings to be asked of our presenters at the on-stage pre-show chats.
Six books will be provided, selected by Envoi from the Festival presenters, and participants will be asked to recommend others. These six books will be free to presenters while the others selected will be paid for by participants. Wait, there’s more! An all-inclusive Envoi Super-Pass will be provided to participants who attend 5 or more sessions, and everyone will receive free Get Poetry buttons.
And that’s still not all! All participants signing up directly by email and by mailing in cheques can CHOOSE WHAT YOU PAY! Cheques to the same address should be made out to the Envoi Literary Foundation. All revenue will be used to pay artist fees.
