Middochschlop (“mid-day sleep”) Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)- a standard Mennonite practise for over 300 years. Preferred because of its long-standing acceptance in the language and bedrooms of the Mennonite people wary of suspect eastern words such as meditation, and mindfulness, the latter becuase of the pride and wordliness of paying attention to self. There are those who suggest paying attention (“being in the moment” – according to progressive magazines like the Canadian Mennonite ) to the matter at hand would keep it out of the grain auger.
