Pain Room

Envoi* is is coming back! Have decided to retrieve the name (remembering Robert Kroetsch) and use it for whatever I do that’s outside of the pages of a book or magazine. We are within hours of completing our first 10 minute podcast.  Sue Foley Deborah Coleman and Roxanne Potvin have a wicked instrumental which is our  theme music (with permission) called “Time Bomb; and used for the thirty second opening animation by Murray Toews and the very short film by Nikkel’s “Killing Time” at the end.

Murray also provides still graphic images, and I’ve worked with Murray before. He supplied this image based on a dream I had.

The filmmakers are Kevin Nikkel (Camera) and Caden Nikkel, who is looking for archival film to use and handling the recording and editing. I’ve known Kevin since my days at the Winnipeg Film Group, but I haven’t worked with him before.

We’ve discovered one thing, I am fussy about details after all. But there is only so much Time for optional striving.

The first podcast will be free and the ones following will depend a lot on finding some money to keep doing the other letters of the alphabet. People can see what it is that I’m doing when I am thinking outside the box. Thanks to the Manitoba Arts Council I intend to complete episode “B is for burn episode ” and C is for….

* Produced the envoi poetry festival. Too bad, so sad very few people came. It was a humbling experience. But a wonderful 60th birthday present. It cost me.
